Rental Terms
Last updated: September 29, 2026
These terms apply to every rental from Kitty Solar LLC (“Quiet Kitty,” “we,” or “us”). By booking a rental or accepting delivery, you (“you” or “the customer”) agree to them. If anything is unclear, call or text us at (424) 359-9630 before you book.
1. The equipment
We rent battery power stations, expansion batteries, and related cables (the “equipment”). We own the equipment. You may use it only during your rental and only as these terms allow. You may not sell, lend, sublet, or transfer it.
2. Booking and notice
- We need at least 24 hours’ notice for all bookings.
- A booking is confirmed when we receive your first 50% payment by Square invoice.
- Tell us your event details and equipment list so we can recommend the right size. Runtime figures on our website are estimates, not guarantees. Actual runtime depends on what you plug in.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices are those shown on our website when you book. Every rental includes delivery and pickup by our team, and a flat round-trip fee is added to each booking.
- You pay 50% by Square invoice to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% is due at delivery, by credit card or Apple Pay.
- Applicable taxes, if any, are added to your bill.
- You authorize us to charge the card you provide for any amount you owe under these terms, including the fees and replacement costs described below.
4. Refundable deposit
We place a refundable deposit hold on your card for each unit or set you rent: $150 for a Small unit, $350 for a Medium set, and $500 for a Large set. We release it after we pick up the equipment and confirm that it is undamaged. The deposit is not a limit on what you owe. If you owe us more than the deposit under these terms, we may charge the difference to your card.
5. Delivery and pickup
- We deliver throughout Los Angeles County. Give us an accurate address, and tell us about stairs, gates, soft ground, or other access issues when you book.
- An adult must be present at delivery to receive and check the equipment, and must be available at the scheduled pickup.
- If no one is available at the scheduled pickup, we add a $50 missed-pickup fee to your bill and contact you to reschedule. Rental charges continue at the daily rate until the equipment is picked up.
- Our team places the equipment. The equipment is heavy, so please do not try to move it yourself.
6. Checking the equipment
At delivery we record the condition, serial numbers, and charge level of each item, usually with photos, and ask you to confirm. Tell us right away about any problem you notice. We record the equipment again at pickup. These records may be used to resolve any question about damage.
7. Using the equipment safely
- Use the equipment in a dry, ventilated place: outdoors under cover, or indoors with the venue’s permission. Keep it on stable, level ground, out of standing water, and protected from rain, humidity, and direct sun. Do not use or store it where the temperature is above 104°F (40°C), and keep it clear of exits and walkways.
- Keep air vents and ports clear, and do not cover the equipment while it is running.
- Use only the cables and accessories we supply, and plug in only equipment within the rated capacity. Tell us your equipment list before you book.
- Do not open, modify, or repair the equipment, and do not connect it to a building’s electrical system or to another power source.
- Keep it away from heat, flames, and flammable materials, and do not leave it in a closed vehicle.
- Keep it away from children and pets.
- If we agree that you will recharge the equipment yourself, use only the AC charging cable we supply, plug it directly into a wall outlet with no extension cords or power strips, and charge it in a dry, ventilated spot, under cover if you are outdoors, away from anything flammable.
- If a unit smells, smokes, overheats, or is damaged, stop using it and move away if it is unsafe. Call 911 in an emergency, then contact us.
8. Your responsibility for the equipment
You are responsible for the equipment from delivery until pickup, including keeping it secure and protected from weather, theft, and damage. Please keep it in a secured area overnight, and never leave it unattended in a public place.
If the equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged, you are responsible for the full cost to replace it. Current replacement costs are: Small unit, $2,700; Medium set, $4,500; Large set, $6,300. Individual batteries and cables are replaced at our cost. These amounts may change with the manufacturer’s prices. Normal wear from proper use is not damage.
Location tracking. All of our equipment carries a location tracker. By renting, you agree that we may track the location of the equipment from delivery until it is picked up, to protect it, confirm delivery and pickup, and recover it if it is lost or stolen. Do not remove, disable, or block the tracker.
9. Swap-outs and recharging
If your power runs low, we can bring a fresh, fully charged unit during your rental. Each swap-out is a $50 delivery fee, and a swap-out does not change your rental rate, including any multi-day pricing. Call or text us at (424) 359-9630 to schedule one. Swap-outs depend on availability, and we pick up the unit being replaced. Both units are covered by these terms while they are with you.
You may instead recharge the equipment yourself from a standard wall outlet, at no charge from us, if we have agreed to it in advance and you follow the charging rules in section 7. Recharging it yourself does not change your rental rate.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel more than 2 hours before your scheduled delivery for a full refund. If you cancel within 2 hours, we charge half of one day’s rental rate for the equipment you booked ($67.50 for each Small unit, $112.50 for each Medium set, or $150 for each Large set) and refund the rest to your original payment method.
11. Extensions
Extensions must be approved by us in advance. If you want to keep the equipment longer, contact us before your rental ends. If we approve, we will email you an extension agreement to sign. The extension is confirmed only when you sign it, and the agreement states the additional charges. Equipment kept past the scheduled pickup without an approved extension is billed at the daily rate until it is picked up. There is no late fee, because we schedule the pickup.
12. Equipment problems
If the equipment stops working through no fault of yours, contact us right away. We will try to replace it or credit you for the affected time. Runtime estimates are not guarantees, and we are not responsible for a shortfall caused by plugging in more than the equipment list you gave us.
13. Insurance
You are responsible for your own insurance. Your policy, or your venue’s or event’s insurance, may cover rented equipment, and some venues require proof of coverage. We may ask for proof of coverage for larger events.
14. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, event cancellations, spoiled goods, or other indirect or consequential losses arising from your rental, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the rental. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
15. Your responsibility for use
To the extent the law allows, you are responsible for injury or damage caused by your use of the equipment or by anything you connect to it, and you agree to cover claims that result from it.
16. Privacy
How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
18. Changes
We may update these terms. The terms in effect when you book apply to your rental.
